Orbit Medical Develops Proprietary Software.

Orbit Medical a nationwide leader in the distribution of Durable Medical Equipment has taken the initiative to develop proprietary software, in order to consolidate operating systems and facilitate logistics.

Orbit Medical recently launched a state of the art system called InventoryBos that reconciles and tracks inventory on one platform, for more than two dozen offices and warehouses. The system represents long term cost savings, which allows Orbit Medical to continue focusing on superior customer service.

Orbit Medical’s latest development is a new operating system customized to Orbit Medical’s operations. A customized system has many advantages for Orbit Medical. The system will define each division’s role within Orbit Medical. This exposes weaknesses and bottlenecks within the organization. This exposure gives the organization opportunities to be more efficient, which will give way to better customer service.

Of course there is a down side to these developments and that is cost. However, developing proprietary software is an investment that often times defines best of breed organizations, and provides long term sustainability.
